FAQ
What is the difference between manual and motorized screens?+–
Manual screens are raised and lowered by hand from the bottom rail, with no power required. Motorized screens use the included control system and a compatible phone app. During Build & Price you choose which side of each opening the motor installs on, as you face the screen from inside.
How do I measure my opening?+–
Measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom of each opening. For a recessed or inside mount, use the smallest width. For an outside surface mount, use the largest width. Measure height on the left and right from the header to the floor and always use the smallest number. Note power location, motor side, and keep housing and side tracks clear of doors, lights, and fixtures. A measurement guide is included in Build & Price and on How It Works. Instant prices cover screens up to 19' 8" wide and 13' 1" high. Larger openings need a Clark review.
Are the screens made to my exact dimensions?+–
Yes. Every screen is made to the dimensions and configuration submitted with your project. Confirm measurements carefully before ordering.
Who manufactures the screens?+–
Clark works with a specialized made-to-order manufacturing partner that has produced sunshade systems since 2012 and supplies projects in more than 100 countries and regions. How they're made covers our partner's experience, capability, and third-party assessments.
What fabric openness should I choose?+–
Lower openness means more screening, privacy, and light reduction. Higher openness means more outward visibility. 0% is maximum coverage — not a full blackout. 5% is recommended and is the material on Clark's five-opening patio.
What frame colors are available?+–
Six powder-coated finishes: White, Light Grey, Metallic Grey, Dark Grey, Black, and Coffee Bronze.
How are motorized screens controlled?+–
Motorized systems include a handheld remote and compatible app control.
Can I control multiple screens together?+–
Yes. Motorized systems can be operated individually or grouped. Each controller can operate up to six screens.
What power is required?+–
Motorized screens require a hardwired 120-volt supply. They are not plug-in. Note where that power is available when you measure, and choose the motor side during Build & Price. Manual screens do not require power.
What is included with my order?+–
Each custom screen includes the screen and frame assembly, the selected manual or motorized drive system, and a reinforced 100 mm roller tube. Motorized systems include remote and compatible app control. Delivery is calculated separately in the project total.
How will my screens arrive?+–
Each screen is packed for freight on its own. Inside the carton it is wrapped, cushioned with packing foam, and braced with internal supports so it cannot shift in transit. Those cartons are then strapped and fastened to a wooden pallet for door-to-door delivery — not shipped loose in a large wooden crate.
How long does production and shipping take?+–
After specification review, production typically takes five to seven days. Shipping is then up to 45 days. Made-to-order systems typically arrive about 45 days door-to-door; exact timing is confirmed with the order.
Is there a minimum shipping charge?+–
Delivery is calculated separately from the product subtotal. Every shipment includes a minimum delivery charge — even for a single screen. Build & Price then estimates freight from how many screens you order and the longest screen width. The figure is an estimate, not a carrier guarantee, and is confirmed during specification review before production.
Can I install the screens myself?+–
Many projects can be installed by a capable homeowner or a local tradesperson. See the Installation page for the current guidance. Professional installation is not automatically included.
Can Clark help review my measurements?+–
Yes. Use Support if you would rather have Clark review the configuration before you order.
What happens if my measurements are wrong?+–
Made-to-order screens follow the dimensions you submit. Measurement errors generally cannot be corrected after production. See the Custom Product & Measurement Policy.
What does the warranty cover?+–
See the Warranty page for current coverage language. Written terms will be published there once they are confirmed.
What happens if freight arrives damaged?+–
Document visible damage before accepting the shipment when possible and contact Clark Support.
What does the material look like?+–
The fabric is PVC-coated polyester sunscreen mesh. Color names follow the weave — White, Beige, Cream, Coffee, Black Grey, and the other named colors shown on Our System. Mixed weaves such as White Grey and Black Grey use two yarn colors in the same mesh. 0% is maximum coverage, not a full blackout. The photos below are the sample fans for each weave; Build & Price only shows the colors available for the openness you select.

0% — Maximum coverage

1% — High privacy

3% — Privacy + visibility

5% — Balanced (recommended)

10% — Enhanced visibility

30% — Maximum openness
